Part Time Laborer

Waste Connections of Rhode Island is looking for a safety conscious Yard Laborer to join our transfer station in Portsmouth, RI.

Pay rate:

$21.50 per hour

Schedule:

Sunday and Wednesday off Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - 8:30am to 12:30pm Why Choose Us? Our priority is to make sure we hire safe labors that care about the safety of our customers and team members. As a transfer station laborer with us the minimum responsibilities are:

• Checking trucks in and out of the transfer station and directing traffic at site as necessary.
• Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.
• Perform yard work including cutting weeds.
• Install temporary wind fences as required.
• Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine safe and environmentally sound solutions to service issues.

What we need from you:

• One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
• Ability to work schedule in all weather conditions
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
